Residence Inn Torrance Hotel Review: Huge Suites Bigger Breakfast

Out of about 6 Torrance hotels we've stayed at, Residence Inn Torrance has been the best one so far. The rooms were recently renovated, breakfast was generous, the lobby is homey and the toys for the kids given to us when we check in was a really nice touch.

I honestly didn't know of Residence Inn in Torrance until we stayed there. Their rooms are suites and came with a huge and clean kitchen. We didn't need it but it was nice to have if you're traveling with kids. Check out photos from our recent stay below.

I surely love the lobby and the fact that it was connected to the breakfast area and a huge waiting area and business center. Like it can be our home or I wanted it to be our home especially the kitchen at the breakfast buffet with it's subway tiles and simply generous breakfast, it's great for entertaining if we have that kitchen at home. The kids who are not big on breakfast even wanted to keep eating, it was that inviting.

We arrived late at Residence Inn Torrance coming from Palm Springs and was ready to go to bed. The kids love the suite that even it was already passed 10, there was no way we can get them to bed, but once we got them to, we were all in a sweet slumber.

The 2 beds being not queen size is probably the only negative I can say about Residence Inn but they also have a pull out sofa.

The kitchen has a full size fridge, a dishwasher and is adjacent to a huge desk that will surely be helpful to any business travelers.

Residence Inn Torrance has 2 floors so try booking the ground floor if you have young kids in case you need to push in strollers and the like.

The best part about staying at Residence Inn Torrance is their breakfast. From warm food, cereals, make your own waffle, desserts like brownie cheesecake muffins to drinks and pastries.

VISITING TORRANCE

Visiting Torrance? Residence Inn Torrance is a quick drive from LAX and just a few minutes walk from the newly renovated Del Amo Fashion Center (one of the biggest malls in California). The hotel is also just about 15 minutes drive to the beach like Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach.

If you have kids, I suggest taking them to the Rocketship Park to have a full view of the South Bay as well as playing in the newly updated playground. And if you have time you can also check out Western Museum of Flight.

For food you can only find in Torrance. I suggest visiting Torrance Bakery for their chocolate chews.

In terms of restaurants, there's plenty. Grab some breakfast at King's Hawaiin (Loco Moco or French Toast), lunch at Great Maple, and dinner at this hole in wall joint, Cho Dang Tofu House.

On average, the rate at Residence Inn is about $139 a night. Make sure to ask for a renovated room when booking as they were still renovating the other rooms when we stayed.
