Wicked Musical Review Segerstrom Costa Mesa: Wickedly Good

Who has seen one of Broadway's Most Popular Show Wicked the Musical? I know a few who has seen it a few times and it looks like we'll be watching it again as well. We saw it at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa a few days back and it was simply a must see.. not only once, but multiple times. The props, costumes and performances were outstanding.

Thanks to Segerstrom for inviting us, the kinder girl and I have been belting out "Defying Gravity" ever since we saw Wicked. We literally want to go back before the show leaves Segerstrom on March 6 or just buy a home near Segerstrom as we wish to also see Cinderella and Lea Salonga in April and Sound of Music in July.

Wicked the musical has won over 100 international awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards and once you see it, you'll be all praised too. You will be glued to it from start to end, the show was very engaging. And Emily Koch who played Elphaba nailed the part and hit every high note that I was just in awe. Like, why can't I have a powerful voice like that comes to mind.

Wicked the musical runs for approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes long with a 15 minute intermission. It is recommended for the 8 and up but our kinder girl enjoyed it. There were a few scary parts for her, but she understood it wasn't real life and wanted to see it again.

There's tons of parking spots at the Segerstrom Center parking structure. You can cross the bridge from the second floor if you already have your tickets with you. If not, go to the ground floor where the box office is located. They make exiting very organize as well.

Don't forget to take pictures at the third floor and purchase Wicked merchandise from t-shirts to snow globe on the second floor. I would suggest having your dinner prior but if you are running short on time (like us), there's a concession stand at every level of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts and enough restroom if you need it (the line gets long during intermission though).

Wicked is the backstory to the Wizard of Oz although you don't need to see the other to appreciate Wicked:

Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another girl, born with emerald-green skin-smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships... until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.”

Purchase you Wicked tickets $49 to $109 and sing Defying Gravity with us after the show:

"Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by
The rules of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes
And leap...

It's time to try defying gravity
I think I'll try defying gravity
And you can't pull me down"

Enjoy the Show!!!!
