5 #BackToSchool Tips + Win a School Gear from @WholeFoods & @PBSkids | #Giveaway

Who's ready for back to school? I'd have to be honest and say I'm not at all prepared. The whole "We're moving up to Kindergarten" is making me anxious. Big school..new kids. I'm terrified while my daughter is excited but thinks she's going to see her same friends from preschool.

I have 3 weeks to get myself together, and will work on complying to my Back to School Tips I've listed below starting next week to ease myself and my daughter for kindergarten. I'm also giving away a Back to School prize package courtesy of Whole Foods, so join the giveaway below.

MY 5 BACK TO SCHOOL TIPS FOR PARENTS:

1. TOUR THE SCHOOL

Make sure to attend the orientation or visit during the school's open house to get yourself acquianted with the school. Know the drop off location, where your kid will be eating lunch, etc. Let your kid play in the playground to make him/her excited for his or her new school.

2. MEET THE TEACHER

To ease some separation anxiety especially since you've bonded with your kid a lot this summer. Meeting his or her new teacher will help you both when you leave them in school for the coming school year.

3. GET INTO THE BACK TO SCHOOL ROUTINE

No more staying up late, waking up late. Time to get everyone on a school routine to ease into the nagging alarm clock. To make sure your kids are not late for the bus or is to sleepy to listen to the teacher.

4. CONNECT WITH FRIENDS

Moving up to kindergarten from preschool like us? Check which friend is moving to the same school so it's not too intimidating on their first day when they see a familiar face.

5. GET YOUR BACK TO SCHOOL GEAR READY

Get your back to school essentials and add a few fun stuff like a cute pen and notebook of their favorite character. Make it fun so they're excited for school.

My daughter said: "I get a big back pack coz I'm moving to big school?" and happily posed for me to show her new backpack from Whole Foods.
