Recap of OC Restaurant Week 2015 Media Preview

OC Restaurant Week 2015 is scheduled to run from March 1st to the 7th. You get to enjoy Orange County's finest restaurant for a week, all offering a prix fixe menu starting at $10 for lunch & $20 per person for dinner. We got to attend the OC Restaurant Week Media Preview the other day and would like to share what we were able to sample from various restaurants.

Slapfish. Petite Lobster Roll that I still think about every now and then. I put some of the bottled "Slapfish" garlic sauce they have and the lobster's flavor really came out. I could have eaten more, except I have to save some space for more food. I'd like to visit them even before the OC restaurant week, their menu is just mouth-watering.

Maro Wood Grill served 4 types of empanadas with 2 choices of sauce, garlic aioli & chimichurri. From the spinach, mushroom, chicken & beef, my favorite was the mushroom then I topped it with the garlic aioli. Yum. I love empanada any day.

Blue C Sushi. One of my favorite during the OC Restaurant Week Media Preview is their Albacore nigiri. It was divine, melt in your mouth albacore with chili oil & ponzu. I ate 3-4 of these. They also served it with a Spicy Tuna on top of a crispy rice with jalapeƱo & masago.

Fig & Olive served 5 items that night which includes Octopus A La Gallaga, Zucchini Carpaccio, Cherry Mascarpone Crostini, Tuna Tartare & Tomato Fig Tarts. If you're doing a date night on OC Restaurant Week, this is the place to go, just make sure to reserve in advance.

Valenza Chocolatier. One of the best chocolates I've ever tasted. Their Bonbon of Gold that has peanut butter inside and their Limoncello(in white) and the hazelnut(wrapped in gold foil) is a must try, and a must have for seconds.

Casey's Cupcakes will serve her "Heavenly Cupcake" for the OC Restaurant Week 2015. It's a Tahitian Vanilla Cupcake with Vanilla Buttercream Frosting, for only $5.50. Check out those angel wings and halo.

Getting hungry, make sure to put in your reservation. Check here for a complete listing of the OC Restaurant Week's Participating Restaurants, you can even search by city.

There will also be a OC Restaurant Week Launch Party featuring over 30 restaurants and food at The Waterfront Beach Resort on February 28, check here for more details.
