Join the Bacon Cook Off Competition: Pro, Amateur, & Youth Chefs are Welcome

Long Beach and San Diego Big Bite Bacon Dish Cook Off Competition Call For Entries
Contests Welcome Pro, Amateur and Youth Chef Competitors

The Big Bite Bacon Fest is the foodie sensation of Southern California this summer with two sizzling salty festivals at the San Diego County Fair on July 5 and the Queen Mary in Long Beach on August 2. Bacon chefs of all skill levels and ages are invited to submit to compete in the second annual battle of the Bacon Dish Contests at both festivals. For the first time, this year's competitions will bring together professional chefs, amateur home cooks, and child cooks for a culinary blow out in honor of the key ingredient – bacon.

Submissions are now open for the Big Bite Bacon Dish Contest in Long Beach at the Queen Mary and welcomes professional, amateur, and kid chefs to submit their recipes online at http://bigbitebaconfest.com now through July 11.

Submissions will be reviewed by the Big Bite Bacon Fest team and selected chefs will move on to participate in a preliminary cook off competition at the Queen Mary on July 15. At the event, the pro, amateur and child chefs' dishes will be reviewed and scored live by a panel of culinary judges. The three professional category finalists will be selected and will each choose one amateur and one kid chef to join their final team. The three final teams will cook off on stage at the Big Bite Bacon Fest at the Queen Mary on August 2.

The San Diego Big Bite Bacon Dish Contest submissions are still open via http://bigbitebaconfest.com through June 13. Selected chefs will move on to the preliminary cook off at the San Diego County Fair on June 17 and the three final teams will move on to the main stage competition at the Big Bite Bacon Fest at the San Diego County Fair on July 5.

The Long Beach and San Diego Big Bite Bacon Dish Contest professional and amateur first place winners will each claim their stake in a prize package that includes $3,000 cash and automatic entrance into the World Food Championships in Las Vegas, NV in November.

No matter where you are in Southern California this summer, the Big Bite Bacon Fest has your bacon cravings covered with bacon inspired cuisine, cook-offs, beer tastings, entertainment, pageants, games and more. For more information visit www.bigbitebaconfest.com.
