Disney on Ice Rockin Ever After Show Review at Long Beach Arena

We watched this year's production of Disney on Ice Rockin' Ever After Show the other day. And like fairy godmother. I put out my wand and dressed my daughter into Cinderella and off we go. Fairy godmother playing chaperone this time. Teehee.

There is no traffic getting to Long Beach where we were going to see the show. But we waited for a good 10-15 minutes to try to get into the parking structure of Long Beach Arena. I would park at the open field at the back entrance next time. We had no trouble getting into it last year. Parking is $10 by the way.

There were Disney on Ice merchandise both inside the Long Beach Arena and outside. They were all really cute. But with the parking wait and the popcorn queue, we didn't get a chance to buy any merchandise this time.

Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy served as the hosts of the show. And the show was split into stories of Ariel, Rapunzel, Merida and Beauty and the Beast with Pinocchio also having his short part where he grew a long nose for lying.

I love how they started the show with the song Vogue by Madonna. I haven't heard it in years and now it's stuck in my head. "Vogue... Vogue..", oh okay, let's continue with this post. Haha.

The best part for the Rockin Ever After production I would say is that of the Little Mermaid. Ariel not only skated beautifully, she did an acrobatic act on mid air without harness and just hanging on a rope. She made it looked effortless. It was amazing.

Kudos to the costume designer too. The whole school of glow in the dark fishes, the cute Flounder costume I wanted to try on, to the almost life like costume of Ursula. All well thought off and well made.

My daughter danced through the whole Disney on Ice Dare to Dream show last year and never sat down. This year, she got all shy but eventually danced after the intermission.

The show opened at 730PM, intermission at 820. Back at 835 then ended at 930PM. There was never a dull moment so it didn't really feel like it was 2 hours long.

The Disney on Ice production is different every year. We saw last year's Disney on Ice show and though this year's Rockin Ever After Show had Rapunzel too. The choreography and the way it was presented was different while maintaining the storyline of course. Don't we just love those floating lanterns? Well they have it in the show. And as always, it's magical!

I said I was the chaperone. But actually I was wearing the gold Mickey Mouse crown on me with blue tainted lips from the cotton candy and had a rad time myself. Disney on Ice like any of the Disney theme parks never fail to impress anyone, young and the not so young...ehem.

If you've never seen Disney on Ice. They're still showing til' Sunday in Long Beach Arena. It's a must see every year. And hopefully they'll integrate Disney's Frozen next year. Because that movie, it's music and Olaf the snowman.. What can I say.. The best Disney movie in my book!

There's also a bit of fireworks in this show by the way. If you wish to catch the Long Beach show this weekend, click here for the schedule. Have fun!
