Hash House A Go Go Restaurant Review: San Diego

I've been meaning to try Hash House A Go Go for over a year now. I found out about this restaurant while looking for breakfast spots in Las Vegas. But the usual buffets in Vegas ended up getting me filled up that I couldn't even stomach getting breakfast the next day.

Luckily, we were in San Diego over the weekend for my cousin's wedding where their original branch is located. Yes, a wedding! If you've ever been to Hash House a Go Go, you've seen their serving sizes. And it's not something you want to venture before fitting into a gown. Haha.

When we got there at 830 in the morning, there was already a line. They were gonna open their patio area in 25 minutes to accomodate more guests. They put in your name on an Ipad and you get notified through text messaging when your table is ready. After 25 minutes, out table was ready. Seeing the dark interior of the restaurant, we were lucky to be seated on the patio where it's bright and airy.

So it's our first time, what exactly do we order? My dad ordered the hostess' recommendation and had the HH Famous Meatloaf Hash(pictured on top of this post). It was cooked well. It had roasted red peppers, fresh spinach and smoked mozzarella. It looked burnt but didn't taste burnt. Just crunchy and yummy.

The hubby ordered Andy's Sage Fried Chicken Benedict. It has fresh spinach, hardwood smoked bacon, market tomato, griddled mozzarella, chipotle cream and scrambled eggs over biscuit. The mash potato and chipotle cream of this dish was delish that even if it was a lot, you can't help but finish it.. I finish it for the hubby.. haha.

I had the Mango Coconut Flapjacks. Huge! Thick! Lots of mangoes. I was very satisfied. The service was fast, but I feel the servers could work on being more friendly inspite of how busy the place is. I would like to order the Griddled French Toast next time. Everyone was ordering it. It's dipped in a banana cinnamon cream with pecan maple syrup. Why did I miss that? Hopefully they open in Los Angeles, so if you get tempted by this post, you don't have to drive all the way to San Diego or Las Vegas to get your breakfast fix... me included.
