Winter Fest is coming back to the OC Fairgrounds with more fun things to do this year. Lots of fun memories were made with the kids last year including winning the giant donut from the carnival games and big sis' first time going ice tubing. It was a proud moment for us as we saw her become braver and actually enjoying something we'd think she'll never do until she's a little older. Check the 10 Fun Things we did at Winterfest last year and make sure to visit Winter Fest OC with your family this year and make it an annual holiday tradition.
Winter Fest OC 2016 will start December 16 to January 1st. Check out all the new fun things to do at Winter Fest OC 2016 and also join the giveaway to win 4 tickets to Winter Fest OC below.

There's whining and bickering. I'm hungry! Are we there yet? This is the scenario when we drive with our 2 girls. I would understand if it's the 2hr. long drive we take every other weekend to see family or attend birthdays. But with our girls, even the quick school pickup or drop-offs gets them hangry.
Yes! Hangry - Part angry, mostly hungry. LOL. I've made a Snack Kit for Car Travels to keep them happy in the car so I can keep my focus on the road. Check out my easy tutorial and make Snack Kits ahead to keep in your pantry so you're prepared for long travels or quick car rides.

When our second child was born, she came out looking like her big sister. Like exactly the same you'd think it's deja vu. But their similarity ended there. They don't look alike anymore and everything is as opposite as you can imagine. From their temper to the foods they eat. And who knew their skin would be different as well. And since lil' sis' has sensitive skin, I decided to look into the wipes I'm using and started using WaterWipes - The World's Purest Baby Wipes.
WaterWipes contains only two ingredients so I gave it a try. It's contains 99.9% pure Irish water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract and no chemicals whatsoever. It is both durable and effective without containing any of the potentially harmful chemicals that may be found in other baby wipes that I've used before. It's a safer and natural option for all our little ones who has sensitive skin.
Looking for a hotel near Legoland California? How about one with an access to Legoland's back entrance? Yes! You can access Legoland through the back door if you stay at Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa. It's not Lego-themed like Legoland Hotel but the price is also about 30% less expensive.
We stayed at Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa for 2 nights during a 2 night weekend trip to Legoland California. We promised big sis' a Legoland trip if she scored her spelling test perfectly. The first-grader perfected it and off we went last weekend. Her teacher hasn't given us her paper yet but we'll take her word for it. LOL.

We just came back from Carlsbad this past weekend for a fun trip to Legoland and we're headed out again starting tomorrow and our car mileage is racking up. Well that and our bills at the pump. But do you know starting today until December 13, you can earn 4X fuel rewards when you purchase any gift card at your local Kroger store? Yes! You heard me right!
So to my fellow parents who love buying gift cards, make sure to get it at your local Kroger store during your last minute trip to get dessert for your Thanksgiving feast tomorrow. That's what we were told to bring tomorrow and we're thinking maybe pumpkin cheesecake would be great.
disclosure: #AllMonstersAreWelcome This post is sponsored by Megan Media and Mattel. The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own.
So, I promised our first grader we'd have a movie night every Tuesday (her short day at school) if she finishes her homework earlier rather than dragging it out for a week. Surprise!!! She finished a week’s worth homework in one sitting. Since she was able to fulfill her end of the bargain, I had to keep mine. So I decided to surprise her with a box of Monster High® goodies for a fun movie night!
When I brought out the box that Mattel sent me, she wasn't expecting it at all. She’d actually forgotten about my promise and was doodling away on her notepad. So I got a really sweet smile from her when I handed her the box. It was a special, one-on-one moment, which I hardly get to have with her nowadays with our toddler taking up most of my time!
The girls played and watched the DVD that night, but the fun actually extended throughout the entire week! The girls had so much fun, that I decided to crank movie night up a notch. I went out and bought matching Monster High headbands, canisters for their popcorn, and some Monster High cupcakes for another round of movie night over the weekend.
We've seen a few of the Monster High shows but it's only now that we got to see the new "Welcome to Monster High - The Origins Story.” It's a must-see, and gave the girls and me the full grasp of the beginning mon-story of Monster High. The origins of some of its original ghouls are revealed along with the opening day of the iconic high school -- complete with a monster party in the end.
You will see Dance the Fright Away Draculaura Doll in this DVD, including her photo props during their school's monster party.
The Dance the Fright Away Draculaura Doll is not only a big hit for my girls, I like it a lot myself.
When I was growing up, my family owned a toy store, so I got to choose three new toys when a new toy shipment arrived. So now that I have 2 girls, I find perusing through the toy aisles with them a reminder of my childhood. And having seen a lot of toys in my life, I can honestly say the Dance the Fright Away Draculaura Doll is a must have. Any girl would love to have it. The details, the dress, the accessories, even Draculaura's make-up is just to die for (pun intended!).
Make sure to buy the DVD and the doll, they go hand in hand as Draculaura comes out in the movie in this dress during their monster party. Together, it's a great holiday gift or stocking stuffer. Or, if you can't wait, just throw a movie night like we did.
Draculaura doll's black lace dress with pink overskirt printed with shimmery bats, her fangtastic accessories of pink shoulder collar, black bat-inspired shoes, removable pink earrings and a black headpiece adorned with a spider web is exactly like how it is in the movie.
It also came with character-inspired masks that includes a dark blue spider web glasses, a light blue Skullette mask and a pink speech bubble. She's so beautiful. Her arms, legs, wrist can be turned and twist as well.
Day 1 of unboxing, playing and seeing the movie ended with lots of dancing in the end.
Dance the Fright Away
If you've never seen any of the Monster High series, I can tell you that they each have a good lesson to teach, especially this Origins Story DVD. It speaks of friendship, acceptance, and being true to yourself.
Check out more pictures of the kids having fun in their Monster High Movie Night below! You can re-create it by getting the Dance the Fright Away Draculaura Doll and Welcome to Monster High - The Origins Story DVD.
